High-Precision Dead-Time Intellectual Property Core and Its Compensation for Inverters

In the inverter circuit, there exists a specific on-off time in each power transistor. As such, to prevent short circuit of two switch devices on upper and lower bridge arms, dead must be set pulse width modulation (PWM) sinusoidal (SPWM) signals. this paper, an intellectual property (IP) core that can introduce high-precision arbitrary length into PWM or SPWM signals is designed increase precision, convenience generalization control, resulting boosted control accuracy up 10 ns. Moreover, added Avalon bus enables IP cores accessed by field programmable gate array (FPGA) processor standard manner multiple same class easily incorporated. addition, application for setting compensating three-phase based system chip (SOPC) technology presented. With Nios II CPU as its core, adopts mean voltage compensation method calculate voltage, performs dead-time feed-forward manner. The three are controlled bus. These allow groups transistors accurately flexibly adjusted. also features master computer communication function while boasting advantages flexible high precision low cost.
